Letters of acceptance of honorary membership in the Barnard Society at the Connecticut State Normal School in New Britain. The secretaries whose names appear most often were Elizabeth Dunham and Carrie Jones. The society may have taken its name from Henry Barnard, principal of the school from 1850 to 1854, who was also a noted educator.
